    Update on Covid-19 17th March 2020

    17th March 2020

    Dear Parents,

As I’m sure you have already heard, there have been new cases of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) identified in Trafford.

There are a number of schools, including this one, who have staff members self-isolating. We currently have two members of staff who are at home due to a persistent cough The decision to self-isolate has been taken in conjunction with national guidance and as a matter of caution. At this stage we are redeploying staff within school whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all children and staff.

We will continue to monitor the wider situation carefully but for now we believe that keeping our children's lives and education as normal as possible is very important.

At the moment, the advice remains that the best method of protection is to adhere to the social distancing measures announced last night by the Prime Minister and good hand and respiratory hygiene. We are reinforcing the need to regularly wash hands at school.

A Department for Education helpline and e-mail address has been set up for parents with any further concerns. Please see details below.

We will keep you updated on any developments.

    Kind regards,

    Mr W Hitchcock

    Update on Covid-19 16th March 2020

    16th March 2020

    Dear Parent,

It has come to my attention that there is a rumour circulating that the school has a confirmed case of coronavirus.

    This is not the case.

The situation this morning is that a small number of parents have taken the decision, following advice from NHS 111, to self-isolate their children but there are no confirmed cases of CORVID-19. We are monitoring all the children for symptoms and will send children home immediately should they become unwell.

To reiterate any child or adult should self-isolate if they have one of the following symptoms:
    • A persistent cough
    • A fever, defined as a temperature over 37.8 degrees.
If your child does not have these symptoms they are considered fit to be in school.
Thank you for your understanding at this unusual time.
We will continue to update you regularly.
I will be messaging later with any further social distancing measures we feel are necessary.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Hitchcock
