Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education
Statutory guidance on relationships education, relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education can be found here. The guidance details the content schools are required to teach to their children.
Parents retain the right to withdraw their children from sex education, but not relationships education.
Schools are required to consult parents when they are reviewing their Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education Policy. This consultation was last undertaken for three weeks between Monday 25th May and Friday 12th June.
Our work on children's mental health which supports RHSE (relationships, health and sex education) can be found here.
