As part of the curriculum, which aims to educate pupils about risk, chiildren have been increasing their awareness of speed and speed related issues. Year 6 pupils have been beside a road near school, using police radar guns to record the speed of local motorists. They have used their numeracy skills back in the classroom to analyse the data. Year 6 found a significant number of cars travelling above the 30mph limit. The data has been passed to local police who may decide to make the location as one of their mobile radar locations.
